profiplast air

The profiplast air is the paddle I bought as alternative to the Galasport Demon. The shapes are more or less the same, but yet different.

The shaft and the grip of the demon and the air are comparable. Both fiber or carbon shaft, wooden T-grip nice, small, the way I like it.

The blade of the are on the other hand is something totally different: it's plastic! No, no heavy weight plastic, but light. They used a new technology called Gas Injection Technology. This allows the strenght of a plastic blade with a weight almost as good as a fiber blade. But the plastic blade has the advantage it can take a lot more abuse.

The blade is also assymetrical. now I should say I haven't noticed too much of a difference there when paddling mine regularly righty, but there is some difference if you paddle it lefty, assuming a righty paddle of course here as mine is.

This assymetricality is also something you feel when you have your paddle in the wrong direction, paddling the backface as active side. You still have a good grip, but still different and you feel the assymetry.

The shape of the blade is really demon like. So my guess is that if you like the demon, you'll probably like the demon to. And you'll sure like his price (around 130€).

From this paddle I actually see one major disadvantage:

- it's quite hard to get. I had to mail, call, ... for several months to get in contact with profiplast. When I finally got my order placed, it took me another 2 to 3 months to get my paddle delivered. And since it's a long package, delivery was quite expensive too (ending up at about the same price as the demon transport included :().

If you're lucky to have a local dealer, this paddle is worth his money!
