The collection has all the basic elements one could expect from a thermal wear line: from socks to cap, over longjohns and thermal tops. Nowadays the colors are getting more fashionable, but actually color doesn't determine how this stuff works. It's just good, keeps you warm, and doesn't smell bad. A Hiko thermal layer is expensive though. But then again, all quality thermal layers are expensive. What I personally like very much about the tops and polos is that the seems are not in the armpits, but on the chest and shoulder. This way you don't get an annoying seem in the armpit when you're gear is getting wet. That's a real asset to this thermal wear! All of the gear seems to stretch a little extreme when wet though. Unfortunately this stretching doesn't disappear after washing. So I have my paddling polo, with overstretched neck and arms, and I have my after-paddling version which fits quite a lot better. This range is warm though. From the moment you put it on, you can feel the warmth. Very nice wearing, and on the of the better thermo layers I've been trying until now. |
