The galasport demon is a performance paddle the way I like it. It's light, has a thin shaft and a nice feeling narrow wooden T-grip. It's made of fiber-carbon, just as the blade.
The blade of the demon is a spooned blade. This allows a better catch. Though a spooned blade without adaptations has a inverse spooned backface. This would mean such a paddle is horrible to paddle with the passive blade side since water would slide of immediatly. The Demon has been adapted to have an amazing grip on the backface. As you can see in the left image, they have created a rib in the length of the shaft. Both halfs on the side of that rib are actually spooning down to the rib, creating a spooned-like shape on the back side. You will notice the difference between active and passive blade side, but not because it's no good paddling. It's just different. For this paddle I see only 2 disadvantegs: - the price, since it's around 200€, which I find pretty expensive - the lifetime. The blade wears out quit fast. This is partially because of the light blade, but on the other hand, I don't want a paddle half the size 3 years after I purchased it. Give it a try, you might like it. But you might also like the profiplast air! |
