This is a really nice video for the basic canoeing skills. Besides explaining the basics of canoeing, it also explains some of the issues beginners often encounter. Also some of the back-paddling strokes are covered.

The whole video is covered with a comic touch which makes it enjoyable to watch. There are also some really nice pieces of whitewater paddling in between the different sections.

One of the main drawbacks of this video is that the used techniques are not as purely performed as Kent Ford does in his videos. But the covered topics and the explanations thereon make up a whole lot.

Neither this video will replace a professional instructor, but it can help you a great deal getting your paddling up to speed.
